About Us

“I could never remember if I had taken my medicine so I created Take-n-Slide to help me and I hope it will help you too.” – Lisa D

Lisa Duer, Inventor

Hi, I’m Lisa, the creator of Take-n-Slide! My journey began with a simple personal need: managing my daily medications more effectively. Frustrated with the clutter and inconvenience of traditional pill organizers, I envisioned a straightforward solution—something that would attach directly to my medicine bottle and clearly show if I’d taken my daily dose.

Inspired by a trip to Home Depot and the functionality of light switches, I initially designed a bottle cap featuring four sliding tabs, representing my four daily pills. I quickly realized, however, that bottle caps vary widely in size, leading me to rethink my concept. I soon shifted the design to attach securely to the side of any medication bottle, keeping my useful sliders intact.

The result? Take-n-Slide—a simple, reusable medication tracker designed to fit any bottle, thanks to its innovative curved back. In 2009, I was proud to receive U.S. Patent 7,614,358 for this unique and versatile design.

Since then, Take-n-Slide has been adopted by some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. In 2018, I began offering Take-n-Slide directly to consumers, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to hear countless stories of how this small tool has significantly improved people’s lives.

I’m passionate about making medication management simpler and stress-free. Thank you for letting Take-n-Slide be part of your daily routine!

take-n-slide 3.0

The Best Pill Tracker

It began on the cap as a 4-slide Take-n-Slide version 1 to accommodate my 4x daily medication needs. This eventually upgraded to be a 2.0 version on the side of the bottle. Its final evolution transformed it into the Take-n-Slide we all know today… a full 7-day, reusable tracking tool molded to sit comfortably on the side of any bottle. The thoughtfully-designed curve allows you to sit multiple Take-n-Slides next to one another on a bottle, making it a great choice for people who need a medication 2, 3, or 4 times a day, like me.
